Dlina Volny’s “Dazed” Gets a Stunning Cyber Noir Music Video Premiere

Neon dread, emotional collapse, and dreamlike longing collide in this immersive visual interpretation of “Dazed”

Dlina Volny

Few modern darkwave brut pop acts understand atmosphere quite like Dlina Volny. Emerging from Belarus’s underground scene, the trio Masha Zinevitch (vocals), Ales Shishlo (keyboards/percussion), and Vad Mikutski (guitars/bass) has spent years crafting music that feels suspended between desire and emotional collapse & romance and ruin, pulling from post-punk minimalism, coldwave textures, Soviet-era melancholy, and hypnotic synth noir into something both glacially detached and deeply human. Their songs don’t simply soundtrack loneliness; they immerse you inside it, turning neon-lit isolation, longing, and decay into something strangely beautiful. Their distinctive sound has always carried a strange emotional duality: distant yet intimate, beautiful yet emotionally corrosive, nostalgic yet futuristic.

That tension reaches a stunning peak on “Dazed,” the title track from the band’s 2021 Dazed album of the same name.

Dlina Volny BandWe first heard the track during the winter of 2023, and it immediately lodged itself somewhere deep under our skin. There was something almost narcotic about it. The slow-burning synth progression, the aching sense of emotional paralysis, the dreamlike pull of the vocals. It didn’t feel like a song you simply listened to. It felt like a memory you were trapped inside. And the deeper we fell into its atmosphere, the more one thing became impossible to ignore: the unmistakable shadow of cinematic dream logic hanging over the track.

Part of that comes from the song being mixed by Dean Hurley, the longtime collaborator of David Lynch whose work has helped define some of modern cinema’s most surreal and emotionally disorienting sonic landscapes. Knowing Hurley was involved made perfect sense to us. “Dazed” carries that same Lynchian contradiction: hypnotic beauty wrapped around underlying dread, desire dissolving into abstraction, intimacy melting into unease.

That became one of the driving reasons we approached the music video the way we did. We didn’t want to make a conventional music video. We wanted to build something dark, dreamy, immersive, and emotionally unstable. Something that felt like falling asleep beneath neon lights while a city quietly collapses around you.

So for the past two months, members of our team disappeared deep into production mode, storyboarding, animating, rendering, designing, obsessing over lighting, movement, atmosphere, and emotion, to create a fully in-house cinematic visual experience for the track. Every frame was crafted from scratch as a genuine labor of love. No templates. No shortcuts. No AI. Just countless hours spent trying to visually translate the emotional weight of the song into something immersive enough to live beside it.

What emerged is the video premiering below.

Set inside a rain-drowned cyber-noir metropolis soaked in violent crimson light, the film follows V-7719, a female assassin trapped inside a brutal corporate machine that treats human lives as expendable code. We open on cold digital interfaces flashing: TASK ALLOCATION – CLEANING, ASSET ID: V-7719, CLEARED FOR ACTION. From that moment onward, the city itself feels alive, flickering neon arteries, endless rainfall, decaying warehouses, corrupted holograms, blood-red corridors pulsing like open wounds.

V-7719 moves through it all like a ghost engineered for destruction.

But what fascinated us most was how perfectly the emotional ambiguity of “Dazed” bled into her story.

Beautiful eyes on me / Doesn’t matter what’s in between…” lands against extreme close-ups drenched in crimson shadow, where intimacy feels indistinguishable from surveillance. “Hold me I’m your lover tonight / Feel my careless touch on your face” becomes something chilling when the person reaching toward you is also capable of ending you. Throughout the film, fragments of the lyrics appear weaponised across walls, HUD interfaces, and fractured digital overlays, less like subtitles and more like psychological residue bleeding directly into the environment itself.

We wanted the video to exist inside the exact tension the song creates: desire vs detachment, vulnerability vs violence, human emotion vs mechanical purpose.

V-7719 is simultaneously hunter and hunted. A weapon searching desperately for traces of humanity inside a system designed to erase it.

And then comes the final collapse.

After completing one last assignment, the same cold interface that once authorized her existence quietly marks her for termination. No rebellion. No grand finale. No cinematic redemption. Just brutal bureaucratic indifference. The machine discards its own creation with the same emotionless efficiency it demanded from her.

That ending became the emotional core of the entire project.

Because suddenly the song’s lingering question, “What am I leaving behind?”, stops feeling poetic and starts feeling existential. The answer is devastatingly simple: nothing. Everything around her was already emotionally numbed, corrupted, and dazed long before she realized she was too.

Visually, we leaned hard into oppressive reds, VHS degradation, rain-soaked textures, fluid 3D animation, and unstable digital distortion to make the world feel simultaneously seductive and claustrophobic. Somewhere between the melancholic urban decay of Blade Runner and the neon fatalism of Drive, but emotionally anchored entirely in the DNA of “Dazed” itself. More than anything, this project was our attempt to honor the atmosphere Dlina Volny created, not by explaining it, but by sinking deeper into it.

Now we genuinely want to hear from you. Did the visual world resonate the same way the track did? Did V-7719’s story amplify the emotional weight of the song for you? Drop a comment below and let us know what you felt after watching.

And if you haven’t already, go lose yourself in Dazed” and Dlina Volny‘s sonic underground. Their new album “In Between” is out now.

More original in-house visual projects are on the way.

Dlina Volny – Dazed Lyrics

Beautiful eyes on me
Doesn’t matter what’s in between
Whispering “I am alright”
Hungry for lust in disguise so you smile

Hold me I’m your lover tonight
Feel my careless touch on your face
Whatever you’re leaving behind is dazed
I’m your hazy light, you’re my sound
Ultraviolet words in the air
Whatever you’re leaving behind is dazed

I cry
So much to let go off
I try
My mind won’t let me free on the ride of my time

Hold me I’m your lover tonight
Feel my careless touch on your face
Whatever you’re leaving behind is dazed
I’m your flashing light, you’re my sound
Ultraviolet words in the air
Whatever you’re leaving behind is dazed

It’s dazed
